Tone-Loc Responds To Scam With Two Club Shows

Tone-Loc is making good on two club shows that were booked by a man posing as the performer's manager, according to the Detroit Free Press. The man, who said his name was Robert Jennings, received $400 from the Red Dog Saloon in Milford, MI, for the bogus concert. The man also scammed $1,000 out of Judy Johnson of Bumpers Bar & Grill, located in Westland, MI, which is on the west side of Detroit.

The two clubs realized they were both scammed through the grapevine of local bar owners. Once their stories were compared, the club owners called Bobby Bessone, Tone-Loc's real manger of eight years. Bessone reportedly said when Loc heard of the scams, he offered to play the shows for his regular fee.

The 100-capacity Red Dog welcomes the performer April 11, while the Bumpers show is April 12.
